E3 – Top 10 most interesting games

e3A survey carried out by popular Japanese gameing magazine Famitsu put Nintendo’s Wii console firmly at the top of the most-wanted list after E3. The survey first asked Japanese gamers which games interested them the most at E3; the top 10 are given below:

1. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii/GC)
2. Final Fantasy XIII (PS3)
3. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (PS3)
4. Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen & The Tower of Mirrors (Wii)
5. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii)
6. Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
7. Final Fantasy III (DS)
8. Monster Hunter 3 (PS3)
9. Biohazard (Wii)
10. Halo 3 (360)

The other important question was which console most interested them. The Wii was the clear winner with 68.8%, the PlayStation 3 came in second with 21%, and the Xbox 360 wound up third with 7.2%. The Nintendo DS got just 3% of the votes.

Most people said that the PS3 price was just too high (84.4%).

Wii is clearly the winner of E3, Sony has to get its marketing right to catch up and Microsoft’s advantage is that they’re live already!

Good stats. I’d personally give different results from all the coverage I watched. I’d say that @ E3, all Wii games beat out in on the floor interest. Even WiiSports should have made the list. I mean, the lines to play the Wii were 6 hours long.

But I understand that this is a survey… & seems to be more of “what do you want to play” then anything else.

I’d also say that the buzz around the DS was small, because there were not many announcements and the fact that there are so many already in people’s hands. It out sells the sony psp 5 to 1. 😉

I’ve got an x-box, and I’m not a big fan – had the playstation 2 before, which I prefered. Now it’s time to get a new console, but which one? Get the 360 now, which I think is overpriced and overrated – wait for the Wii with a release date in the UK around Christmas / January, or wait until mid November for the playstation 3.

    Decisions Decisions..

Damn’t, Halo 3 is at the bottom of the list…wtf. I’m an xbox person myself and I would definately recommend getting a 360 Darren. The price of the PS3 is enough to scare a person away, unless you are just wanting the BlueRay.

I dont understand why anyone would ever want an xbox. I think they called it “360” for a reason, they did a full spin and ended up exactly where they where with the last system, not graphically but as far as games go what we`re seeing is a series of Clones. Personally I got bored with Halo when it came out after about 30 minutes of repetative gameplay and an uninteresting story line. Not to mention poor A.I. -compared to games like F.E.A.R. at least. Since the PS2`s debut i`ve said that we need a gaming revolution to take place, games have only been improving graphically for the past decade, Madden 95 is almost the exact same thing as madden 06 with some improvements. Graphics can only get so good before what you`re looking at is identical in visual quality as what you`re looking at around your t.v. It`s time for gaming companies to focus on game play and interactivity to end this stalemate, and I think that Nintendo is the only company forging a path into this new frontier. I think what we`re ultimately going to see is going to be similar to what happened with the PSP and DS. PSP being a piece of equipment that boasts superior technology losing sales to the More fun and interactive DS which is technologically inferior in power aspects.
